My daughter was very fortunate to be an early client of Ms. Machin’s. She was just beginning to offer services to students and their parents in assisting them as they maneuvered through the labyrinth of college applications and decisions.

We had struggled for a couple months trying to do it ourselves. As we moved through, we kept discovering more and more aspects we were unfamiliar with and then feared we would either miss, leave something out or not complete it properly. We reached out to Ms. Machin, who we knew through a friend, was a very experienced high school guidance counselor who had assisted many students at her job in the past.

Next to my daughter making the final decision in which schools she would attend, it was the best decision we could have made.

Ms. Machin met with my daughter and got to know her as a person and as a student. She listened to what my daughter was looking for in a school, what her academic goals were, what fields of study she wanted to pursue and what type of environment she was looking to spend the next four years doing all that.

Ms. Machin was patient, understanding, knowledgeable, organized, and created a relaxed atmosphere to reduce the stress and uncertainty we were facing. She sat down with my wife and I as well to discuss how the application process works, what we can expect and how we can better educate ourselves on the financial aspects of a college education and how best to support our daughter as well.

She walked all of us through the many steps with care and reviewed all our information prior to submission ensuring accuracy and that we had provided all we needed to. When the letters of acceptance (and one rejection) came, Ms. Machin was there to continue to guide us. What to do and how to narrow down the options to what would be the best fit.

We are very appreciative and thankful for all her aid and highly recommend her when it comes to this time in your child's life.
