Stephanie Machin – College & Academic Consulting, Student and Family Advocate
With 14 years of experience as a dedicated school counselor in public school districts, Stephanie has guided hundreds of students through every step of the college application process. From completing college and financial aid applications to crafting compelling essays and resumes, she has helped students navigate the often overwhelming transition from high school to higher education. Additionally, she has provided tutoring support and academic guidance, ensuring students have the resources they need to succeed.
Beyond college advising, Stephanie has been a strong advocate for students and families, assisting them in understanding their rights within the school system. With her background as a former Anti-Bullying Specialist (ABS) and current role as the HIB Coordinator, she is highly knowledgeable about the law and the rights of both parents and students in relation to it. Stephanie also has extensive experience in the 504 and IEP processes, helping families navigate accommodations and ensuring students receive the support they need.
As a former four-year college athlete, Stephanie brings specialized expertise in NCAA eligibility and the recruitment process. She has built strong relationships with college coaches across the region and offers valuable insight for students looking to compete at the collegiate level. With 11 years of coaching experience in girls’ basketball and boys’ and girls’ track, she understands the demands of student-athletes and how to position them for success both academically and athletically.
Currently serving as the Director of Counseling and Student Support Services in a New Jersey public school district, Stephanie continues to lead with passion and commitment, ensuring students receive comprehensive support as they plan for their futures. Whether helping students with applications, academic planning, or athletic recruitment, she is dedicated to empowering students to reach their full potential.
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family and her two German Shepherds. Much of her free time is spent attending sporting events for her sons, and whenever possible, travelling and exploring new places as a family.
